Classes & Levels ...​

​Pre-Ballet                                
Ages  5 & 6.  No previous training. Introduction to the  5 basic ballet positions, barre, & basic steps. Please note-ballet requires discipline. Major emphasis placed on listening & following instructions.  

 (1 class per week recommended)

Wee Tap/Wee Jazz​

Ages 5 & 6. Introduces basic tap steps & rhythms through dance combinations .  

(1 class per week) ​





Beginner Classical Ballet                                                                      
Ages 7- 9.  Basic ballet for students with little or no prior training. Focuses on proper movement and strong emphasis on technique from the 5 basic ballet positions, intoduction to center, turns, jumps & leaps. 

(1 day per week recommended)

​Beginner Ballet /Contemporary
Ages 7- 9. 1 year previous training required. Strong emphasis on ballet technique, contemporary movement, & performance. 

(Must be currently enrolled in beginner classical ballet)

Beginner Tap/Jazz

Taught as a combination class. Explores  jazz styles & incorporates theatrics with a tap component plus basic time steps.

(2 classes per week required)     ​

Intermediate Classical Ballet/Pre-point

Ages 10-12. Classical ballet that moves beyond basic positions, focusing on pre-pointe technique, barre, center, turns, jumps & leaps.  Previous training required . 

(1 class per  week recommended)



​Intermediate Ballet/Contemporary/Liturgial

Ages 10-12 . A continuation of intermediate ballet that combines the foundation of ballet , elements of jazz, and praise dance.

(Must be currently enrolled in Intermediate  classical ballet)

Intermediate Tap/Jazz
Ages 10- 12.  Combination jazz & tap with heavy emphasis on stage performance, faster rhythms, & introduction to advanced footwork.              

 (2 classes per week required)



​Performance Company Classes​

Students 13 & up who would like to remain at Savoy Conservatory & are willing to put in the time, attention & dedication required, are offered classes and are able to participate in performance opportunities through Savoy. This includes  any  & all dance company memberships & affiliations.  



​

​Private & Group Lessons​

Private & group lessons are available for pageant participants, civic groups, and churches.  There is a 4 class minimum. Class hours and fees are determined by Savoy. Payments are made in advance and through contractual agreement only.​
